Despite the loss, East Bakersfield saw an underclassman step up: Angie Garcia almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Garcia has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jessicca Ibarra, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Caleigh Adams continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for West, dropping a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Adams has scored at least a third of West's points. Mikayla Villalobos was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
East Bakersfield's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for West, they pushed their record up to 12-8 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Bakersfield will square off against the Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for West, they will head out on the road to take on the Stars at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
