The Diamond Bar Brahmas will head out on the road to take on the Baldwin Park Braves at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Having struggled with ten defeats in a row, Diamond Bar turned things around against Nogales on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over the Nobles. Considering the Brahmas' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Diamond Bar got a great performance from Quinton Mendoza as he pitched six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. What's more, Mendoza posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Dominic Tortorelli and Carlos Cornejo did most of the damage at the plate: Tortorelli went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Cornejo scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs Cornejo has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Insuasti, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Diamond Bar kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Baldwin Park got themselves on the board against Southlands Christian on Tuesday, but Southlands Christian never followed suit. They blew past the Eagles 11-0. The result was nothing new for the Braves, who have now won four contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Julian Huerta made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Isaiah Montes was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Michael Rojas also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Baldwin Park is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Diamond Bar, their record is now 3-13.
Diamond Bar took their victory against Baldwin Park in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 9-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Brahmas since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
