Even though the Pleasant Grove Eagles have not done well against the St. Francis Troubadours recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Pleasant Grove managed a 63-57 victory over St. Francis. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, St. Francis still got an impressive performance from Bria McGahan, who scored 28 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. McGahan hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Lexi London, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Pleasant Grove pushed their record up to 10-11 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for St. Francis, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pleasant Grove will square off against Elk Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Elk Grove has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 7. As for St. Francis, they will head out on the road to take on Cosumnes Oaks at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
