Hiram and Osborne are an even 4-4 against one another since February of 2018, but likely not for long. The Hiram Hornets will be playing at home against the Osborne Cardinals at 5:55 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Hiram will bounce into Friday's game after beating Douglas County, who they had gone 1-6 against in their seven prior meetings. Hiram was the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over Douglas County on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hornets.

Josh Tuggle made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over 4.1 innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jory Wardlaw, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. What's more, he also racked up two hits, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Alex Tamayo was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Hiram always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Douglas County only posted an OBP of .308.
Meanwhile, Osborne never let their opponents score on Monday. They put the hurt on Douglas County with a sharp 9-0 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Cardinals have posted since April 5, 2024.
Like Hiram, Osborne also got a great game from a two-way player: Stanley Vidal. He struck out eight batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Vidal was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
In other pitching news, Bryant Edge looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Jaden Hall was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Chris Blunt, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Osborne's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Hiram, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
