Baseball Recap: Monday's Win Is King/Drew's Tenth in Last 12 Outings

There's no place like home for King/Drew, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Dorsey Dons a 16-0 shutout on Monday. Considering the Golden Eagles have won seven matches by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Robert Salazar and Hades Carranza made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Salazar tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Carranza struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February. At bat, Salazar went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Carranza got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Oscar Reyes was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Damico Martin was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

King/Drew has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Dorsey, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.
