It was a good run, but the Shelton Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Overton by a score of 44-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Shelton has suffered yet this season.
It was another big night for Ashlyn Florell, who scored 21 points along with three steals for Overton. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Florell has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jolee Ryan, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Shelton's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Overton, they pushed their record up to 16-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Shelton will be playing at home against Blue Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Overton, they will head out on the road to square off against Elm Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Elm Creek has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
