The Eureka Hornets will head out to take on the Brimfield Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, Eureka turned things around against Fieldcrest on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Knights a 10-0 shutout.

Teagan McLaughlin made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, John Martin was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Keegan Myers was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.
Meanwhile, Brimfield got the win against Knoxville on Wednesday by a conclusive 14-0. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by ten runs or more this season.
The team relied heavily on Kaeden Schatsiek, who fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinton Johns, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
Brimfield's record now sits at 17-3. As for Eureka, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Everything went Eureka's way against Brimfield in their previous matchup back in April of 2023, as Eureka made off with a 17-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
