Baseball Recap: Georgia Military College Drops Highest Score of Season Against Windsor Academy

Georgia Military College was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Windsor Academy on Saturday. The Georgia Military College Bulldogs blew past the Windsor Academy Knights 12-4. The Bulldogs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Seth Ussery and Ayden Hamm were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Ussery struck out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Hamm struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. At bat, Ussery went 4-for-5 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Hamm scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4. Those four RBI gave Ussery a new career-high.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Noah Goddard, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. Eli Griffith also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Georgia Military College's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. We've got a battle between Bulldogs coming up. Georgia Military College will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Windsor Academy, they will face off against Taylor County at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Taylor County will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Windsor Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
