On Tuesday, the Neumann-Goretti Saints faced the Lansdale Catholic Crusaders in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Neumann-Goretti fell 58-47 to Lansdale Catholic. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Neumann-Goretti of the 76-54 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
Despite the defeat, Neumann-Goretti had strong showings from Reginna Baker, who scored 14 points, and Carryn Easley, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Amya Scott, who scored eight points.
Neumann-Goretti's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Lansdale Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which somehow isn't as good as their 16-4 record this season.
Neumann-Goretti will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Little Flower Catholic for Girls at 7:00 p.m. Little Flower Catholic for Girls will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 414th, while Neumann-Goretti is ranked 14th). As for Lansdale Catholic, they will head out on the road to square off against Nazareth Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
