Samueli Academy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Temecula Prep Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Samueli Academy had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They strolled past Silver Valley with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 44-25. Samueli Academy pushed the score to 34-9 by the end of the third, a deficit Silver Valley cut but never quite recovered from.
Samueli Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maya Gonzales, who scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gonzales has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Genavivie Medrano, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Temecula Prep entered their tilt with Desert Christian with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Temecula Prep came out on top against Desert Christian by a score of 52-44 on Saturday.
Samueli Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Temecula Prep, their win bumped their record up to 15-8.
