It was a good run, but the Greater Latrobe Wildcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 51-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Penn-Trafford. Greater Latrobe has struggled against Penn-Trafford recently, as their game on Monday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Penn-Trafford was led to victory by Lauren Marton and Olivia Pepple. Marton dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Pepple scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Elle Visco, who scored six points along with four steals.
Greater Latrobe's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Penn-Trafford, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greater Latrobe won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hempfield Area at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Hempfield Area is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Penn-Trafford, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Connellsville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Connellsville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while Penn-Trafford is ranked 135th).
