After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Penns Manor, the West Shamokin Wolves were happy to have found some success on Friday. They walked away with a 53-41 victory over Conemaugh Valley.
Conemaugh Valley's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Illyana Darcangelo, who scored 14 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Darcangelo has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Sarah Miller, who scored seven points along with three steals.
West Shamokin is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-8 record this season. As for Conemaugh Valley, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-11.
West Shamokin will head out on the road to face off against Portage at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Portage will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. Conemaugh Valley will take on River Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully River Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Thursday.
