The Rio Linda Knights entered their tilt with the Dixon Rams with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. Rio Linda enjoyed a cozy 56-38 win over Dixon on Thursday. Given Rio Linda's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 337th, while Dixon is ranked 716th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Rio Linda found their leader in underclassman Savannah Grant, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Kyrri Mitchell, who scored five points along with 11 rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Dixon still got an impressive performance from Brianne Castelli, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Morris, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Rio Linda is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season. As for Dixon, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-15.
Rio Linda does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Dixon also has no future games currently scheduled.
