The Winfield Generals suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were dealt a 68-40 defeat at the hands of Gilmer County. Winfield has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Winfield saw an underclassman step up: Gabriella Canterbury scored 14 points along with five steals.
Winfield's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Gilmer County, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Winfield won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lewis County at 1:00 p.m. on January 13th. Hopefully Lewis County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Thursday. As for Gilmer County, they will head out on the road to face off against South Harrison at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Harrison will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
