The Frost Polar Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 78-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rio Vista. Frost has not had much luck with Rio Vista recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Rio Vista's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dawson Macklin, who shot 5-for-9 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 31 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Macklin has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Filippo Bencetti, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 assists.
Frost bumped their record down to 9-15 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.5 points per game. As for Rio Vista, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 14-12 record this season.
Frost will look to defend their home court on Friday against Hamilton at 7:30 p.m. As for Rio Vista, they will head out on the road to take on Itasca at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Itasca is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.
