Antelope Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Beau Glover, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Another was Jackson Williams, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Quartz Hill entered their tilt with Windward on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 15-1 victory. The Royals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.
Christopher Lozano looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Zach Dizon was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Austin Wood was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Quartz Hill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive games.
Quartz Hill's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-10. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Antelope Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.
Antelope Valley might still be hurting after the 13-0 defeat they got from Quartz Hill when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Antelopes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
