Sultana is still undefeated this season after their contest against Granite Hills on Thursday, but Granite Hills came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Sultans narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Cougars 4-2. The four-run effort marked the Sultans' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

LJ Borrego was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025.

Borrego wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Isac Gamez, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Sultana's record now sits at 7-0. As for Granite Hills, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Coming up, Sultana will challenge Rialto at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Granite Hills, they will be taking part in a tournament against Polytechnic at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last three games the Panthers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
