After flying high against the Hill Falcons on Friday, the Evergreen Valley Cougars came back down to earth. Evergreen Valley was just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 67-66 to American. While losing is never fun, Evergreen Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 321st, while American is ranked 123rd).
American's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kiratraj Sanghera, who scored 20 points along with 7 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jordan Bucko, who scored 18 points.
Evergreen Valley's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for American, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Evergreen Valley will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Ann Sobrato at 3:30 p.m. on December 7th. As for American, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Newark Memorial at 7:00 p.m.
