It was fun while it lasted, but Saegertown's undefeated season came to an end after three games on Friday. They came up short against the Mercyhurst Prep Lakers, falling 72-48. The loss was the Panthers' first of the season.

Tanner Ashton went supernova for Mercyhurst Prep, putting up 26 points along with six assists and six steals. Those six steals gave Ashton a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Manendo, who posted 14 points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Saegertown's loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-1. As for Mercyhurst Prep, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Saegertown will take on Union City in a holiday battle at at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mercyhurst Prep, they will head out to face off against Grove City at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th.
