Softball Recap: Beatrice Wins Going Away Against Aurora

Beatrice never let their opponents score on Saturday. They blew past the Aurora Huskies 10-0. The Orangemen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by eight runs or more this season.

Beatrice got a massive performance out of Callie Schwisow, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Schwisow has posted over her last 11 matches. Another player making a difference was Sadie Hereth, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

Beatrice was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in seven consecutive games.

Beatrice has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Aurora, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Beatrice will face off against Malcolm at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Aurora, they will square off against Cozad at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Haymakers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
