The Glendora Tartans are on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Marshall Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on December 5th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Glendora's game was all tied up 30-30 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Rancho Cucamonga 53-51.
It was another big night for Rylie Anderson, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. The matchup was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. Addison Martin was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Marshall entered their tilt with Edgewood with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Marshall blew past Edgewood, posting a 62-25 win on the road. Given Marshall's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 207th, while Edgewood is ranked 499th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Marshall's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maryn Goodwin led the charge by scoring 15 points along with 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Madelyn Degooyer, who scored 10 points along with 3 steals.
Their wins bumped Glendora to 7-1 and Rancho Cucamonga to 5-2.
Keep an eye on the arc in Tuesday's match: Glendora have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 7.9 threes per game. It's a different story for Marshall, though, as they've been averaging only 2.3 per game. Given Glendora's sizeable advantage in that area, Marshall will need to find a way to close that gap.
