The Steele Canyon Cougars had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They snuck past West Hills with a 49-45 victory. That's two games straight that Steele Canyon has won by exactly four points.
Steele Canyon's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Arianna Sanchez, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Sanchez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Jadie Bowers was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Steele Canyon pushed their record up to 13-6 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for West Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Valhalla the next time they take the court. Steele Canyon will host Valhalla at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while West Hills will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
