St. Bernard's strolled past the Warriors with points to spare, taking the game 62-44. Given St. Bernard's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Warriors are ranked 255th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
St. Bernard's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Laila Florvilus, who scored 17 points. Florvilus hasn't dropped below 15 points for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Madelyn Shanahan, who scored 13 points.
St. Bernard's has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season. As for Hoopa Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-8.
