Flag Football Recap: Gilbert Skates Past Higley with Ease

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Gilbert's strategy against Higley on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Tigers blew the Knights out of the water with a 38-7 final score. Considering the Tigers have won eight matchups by more than 19 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Gilbert's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 31.8 points over those games. As for Higley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Gilbert will challenge rival Queen Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Tigers 12, the Bulldogs 8.2) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Higley is set to take on their familiar foe Williams Field at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
