Volleyball Recap: Union County Comes Up Short

Union County lost against Gainesville back in September of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Panthers fell just short of the Red Elephants by a score of 2-1. The Panthers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Union County started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-7, 15-10.

Sofia Foster paced Union County's offense, picking up five kills. Foster got some help from Kamryn Brown and her 15 assists. Brown was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Union County's defeat dropped their record down to 18-11. As for Gainesville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season.

Union County will venture away from home to face off against North Murray at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gainesville, they will host Johns Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
