The Troy Trojans won the last time they faced the Williamson Warriors, and things went their way on Tuesday too. The stars were shining brightly for Troy in a 52-35 victory over Williamson.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Troy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alyssa Parks, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. The match was Parks' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Gloria Andrews, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Despite the loss, Williamson saw an underclassman step up: Kenna Thomas dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Meisner, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds.
Troy's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Williamson, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-1.
Troy and St. Mary's will round out the year against one another at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday at. Williamson will be home for the holidays to greet Sayre at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sayre is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
