Baseball Recap: Edison's Losing Streak Snapped at Eight Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against River City, Edison was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Everything went their way against the Redwood Christian Eagles as they made off with a 12-2 victory. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Vikings' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Daniel Miranda made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Edison got a massive performance out of Alberto Cervantes, who went 4-for-5 with five stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Izaak Navarrete, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs.

Edison always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win snapped Edison's losing streak at eight games and leaves them with a 4-10-1 record. As for Redwood Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.

Edison didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-2 victory against Chavez on the 16th. As for Redwood Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 0-0 tie against the Tigers on the 14th.
