The Northwest Jaguars will square off against the Walter Johnson Wildcats at 6:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Walter Johnson took a loss in their last  matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Northwest, who comes in off a win.
Northwest is headed in fresh off scoring the most  points they have   all season. They blew past Seneca Valley 45-7  on Friday. The  contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Jaguars had established  a  31-point advantage.

Northwest got their  win on the backs of several key players, but it was  Jayden Vongprachanh-Nelson out in front who threw for 210 yards and three  touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. That's the most  passing touchdowns  Vongprachanh-Nelson has posted since back in November of 2024.  Isaiah Taylor helped  Vongprachanh-Nelson out on the ground, rushing for 113 yards and one  score on only ten carries.
 Northwest didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Seneca Valley to a completion percentage of just 38.5%. The Jaguars have been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.6 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.6 in their last three games.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Walter Johnson and Bethesda-Chevy Chase have met, but the home crowd finally got their W  on Friday. The Wildcats took  a  28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Barons. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by  exactly seven  points.
 Northwest will have to contain  Jake Forburger as he made an impact in Walter Johnson's last game. He threw for 115 yards and a pair of  TDs, and also rushed for 35 yards. Forburger's passing game has become a key predictor of Walter Johnson's success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-3 otherwise.
 The  victory  got Northwest back to even at 3-3. As for Walter Johnson, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Thursday's   game might be decided in the trenches. Northwest has been excellent on the ground this season,  having  averaged 154  rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Walter Johnson, though, as  they've been averaging  only 58.8  rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
