Basketball Recap: Patrick Henry Piles Up the Points Against Point Loma

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Patrick Henry's strategy against Point Loma on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Patrick Henry Patriots blew the Point Loma Pointers out of the water with a 59-24 final score. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 28 points or more this season.

Patrick Henry can attribute much of their success to Taylor Perry, who went 5 of 11 en route to 14 points. That's the most points Perry has posted since back in December of 2023. Honey Smith was another key player, putting up nine points.

Several Pointers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hannah Smith, who posted four points in addition to 16 rebounds and four blocks. Smith is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played.

Patrick Henry pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.8 points per game. As for Point Loma, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.

Patrick Henry will square off against Crawford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Point Loma has already played their next game (against Madison), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
