The Nevada Union Miners are taking a road trip to take on the Bradshaw Christian Pride at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Nevada Union has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Bradshaw Christian will arrive with three straight victories.
On Friday, Nevada Union came up short against Yuba City and fell 7-4.

Grant Simpson put in work while hitting and pitching. He struck out 11 batters over one inning while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). He is becoming a predictor of Nevada Union's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 7-17-1 when he doesn't). Simpson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, Jayce Gross made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
Meanwhile, Bradshaw Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Woodland Christian on Friday, taking the game 9-4.
Like Nevada Union, Bradshaw Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Sam Amezcua. On the mound, he pitched 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Amezcua was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Evan Fujii-Sisler, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Ethan Quach was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Bradshaw Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Nevada Union's loss dropped their record down to 9-18-1. As for Bradshaw Christian, their record now sits at 22-4.
