If The Bishop Ryan Lions were feeling good off their 38-7 takedown of the Nedrose Cardinals last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The game between Bishop Ryan and Shiloh Christian wasn't particularly close, with Bishop Ryan falling 28-14. Bishop Ryan was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Shiloh Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2020.
Shiloh Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaac Emmel, who rushed for 182 yards on only 11 carries. Emmel was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 67 yards. Carter Seifert was in the mix too, providing Shiloh Christian with two touchdowns.
Bishop Ryan has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Shiloh Christian, their victory was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-1.
Bishop Ryan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Shiloh Christian will take on Velva/Garrison/Drake/Anamoose at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Velva/Garrison/Drake/Anamoose is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
