Northgate is a perfect 4-0 against Mt. Diablo since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Broncos will be playing in front of their home fans against the Red Devils at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Northgate has four straight victories, Mt. Diablo has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Northgate not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 14th (when they won 19-2). Everything went their way against Concord as they made off with a 15-3 win.
Brandon King looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Northgate got a big performance out of Andres Zaragoza Roberts, who went 2-for-5 with four RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Shane Malloy, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Northgate kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in seven consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Mt. Diablo fell victim to Las Lomas and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 15-0 to the Knights, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Northgate's victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Mt. Diablo, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.
Mt. Diablo's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Northgate hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. It's a different story for Mt. Diablo, though, as they've only averaged .184. Will they be able to contain Northgate's hitters?
Northgate got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2025 against Mt. Diablo by a conclusive 27-0 score. Will the Broncos repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
