For the second straight game, Harvester Christian Academy will face off against Hearts Academy. The Hawks will be playing at home against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. On Tuesday, Harvester Christian Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Hearts Academy and fell 16-15. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (ten), the Hawks still had to take the loss.
For Hearts Academy's part, Jameson Wood was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Wood was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 4-for-5. Hearts Academy is undefeated when Wood posts two or more runs, but 2-3 otherwise.
In other batting news, Hearts Academy got a massive performance out of Cole Trawick, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-5. Those three runs gave Trawick a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kingston Wright, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Hearts Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .469. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harvester Christian Academy only posted a batting average of .290.
Hearts Academy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Harvester Christian Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-5.
Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Harvester Christian Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .435. However, it's not like Hearts Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .508. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
