The Depew Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Bishop Timon-St. Jude Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Depew is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Depew and Maryvale have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Flyers by a score of 6-5.

Caleb Lorefice put in work while hitting and pitching. He struck out 13 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Lucas Spruch made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Meanwhile, Bishop Timon-St. Jude fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Nichols on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Big Green by a score of 5-4. The Tigers just can't catch a break and have now endured six defeats in a row.
Bishop Timon-St. Jude saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Declan Maloney, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one double. That run marked the first that Maloney has scored this season.
Depew now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Bishop Timon-St. Jude, their record is now 5-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Depew has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Bishop Timon-St. Jude struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Depew couldn't quite get it done against Bishop Timon-St. Jude in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 as they fell 11-7. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
