Baseball Recap: Valwood Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

While Valwood put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Fullington Academy. The Valiants blew past the Trojans 16-0. The Valiants might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by seven runs or more this season.

Valwood got a great performance from Camden Crump as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over 4.2 innings pitched. Crump has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Will Greene was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Colson Smith, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs.

Valwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fullington Academy only posted an OBP of .062.

Valwood has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Fullington Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-19.

Valwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fullington Academy, they will face off against Southland Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
