The Winters Warriors will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Woodland Wolves at 6:30 p.m. on December 15th. Woodland took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Winters, who comes in off a win.
Last Monday, Winters strolled past Dixon with points to spare, taking the game 48-29.
Winters got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Luz Martin out in front who scored 12 points. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for Martin. Another player making a difference was Maci Dodic, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Woodland, who are still winless after their seventh contest. They had to suffer through a rough 70-34 loss at the hands of Oakmont. Woodland was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-12.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Joie Perez, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Margherita Marzo , who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Winters now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Woodland, their defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-7.
Winters was taken down by Woodland 57-16 when the teams last played back in January of 2020. Thankfully for Winters, Julianna Villanueva (who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
