The North Canyon Rattlers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They escaped with a win against Central by the margin of a single free throw, 71-70. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Central's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aligo Banja, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. Banja is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games he's played. Sabih Almasri was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
North Canyon pushed their record up to 15-8 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for Central, their loss dropped their record down to 17-7.
North Canyon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Central also has no future games currently scheduled.
