This season hasn't been kind to the Rancho Mirage Rattlers, who are still winless after their 21st matchup. They were outmatched by Shadow Hills on the road and fell 69-14. Rancho Mirage has not had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Shadow Hills to victory, but perhaps none more so than Holly Martinez, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Martinez scored 15 or more points. Genesis Huerta was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with seven steals.
Rancho Mirage dropped their record down to 0-21 with that defeat, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.3 points per game. As for Shadow Hills, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season.
Rancho Mirage won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Rajahs at 5:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Indio comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. Shadow Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
