Hamilton is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Nuview Bridge a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Hamilton Bobcats will host the Nuview Bridge Knights at 3:30 p.m. Nuview Bridge took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Hamilton, who comes in off a win.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Hamilton turned things around against Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 5-1.
Seth Aanestad made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and not a single walk). What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.
In other batting news, Joey Alvarez was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4. Sebastion Soriano also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Nuview Bridge had taken Santa Rosa Academy down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. Nuview Bridge fell just short of Santa Rosa Academy by a score of 4-2. That's two games in a row now that the Knights have lost by exactly two runs.
Like Hamilton, Nuview Bridge also got a great game from a two-way player: Ethan Rivera. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Rivera was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.
Rivera wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Carson Lagor, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave Lagor a new career-high.
Even though they lost, Nuview Bridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Nuview Bridge's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Hamilton, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
Hamilton might still be hurting after the 17-3 defeat they got from Nuview Bridge when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Hamilton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
