The Fox Warriors will square off against the Festus Tigers at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Fox will be strutting in after a victory while Festus will be coming in after a loss.
On Friday, Fox needed a bit of extra time to put away DeSoto. They had just enough and edged out the Dragons 4-3. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Fox got a great performance from Olivia Keith as she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits. Keith has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Maddie Baldridge and Makenna Johnson did most of the damage at the plate: Baldridge went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double, while Johnson went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run. That double was Baldridge's first of the season.
Meanwhile, Festus unfortunately witnessed the end of their 13-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 6-3 to Windsor. The matchup marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Kendahl Johnson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Keeleigh Hankins, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Festus' defeat dropped their record down to 15-3. As for Fox, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Fox hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .312. However, it's not like Festus struggles in that department as they've averaged .338. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Fox couldn't quite finish off Festus in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 and fell 4-2. Will the Warriors have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
