Meanwhile, St. Dominic suffered their biggest defeat since August 30, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Jackson, falling 12-4. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Crusaders, who until this contest were averaging 3.35 runs allowed.
St. Dominic saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ana Fleck, who went 2-for-4 with one run.
Incarnate Word Academy's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for St. Dominic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-7.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Incarnate Word Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .392. However, it's not like St. Dominic struggles in that department as they've averaged .328. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
