The Gabrielino Eagles won the last time they faced the South El Monte Eagles, and things went their way on Friday too. Gabrielino simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat South El Monte 60-18 on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-8.
Leading Gabrielino to victory were Sarah Banh and Mia Lim. Banh scored 15 points along with three steals, while Lim scored 12 points along with eight steals. That's the first time this season that Banh scored 15 or more points. Maya Katz was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Gabrielino's victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-4. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.44 points. As for South El Monte, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gabrielino is on the road again on Monday and play against El Monte at 5:00 p.m. on December 18th. El Monte has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for South El Monte, they will head out on the road to face off against Mountain View at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
