The West Tallahatchie Choctaws suffered their biggest defeat since November 7, 2023 on Wednesday. They were the victim of a rough 59-33 loss at the hands of Simmons. West Tallahatchie was down 41-17 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
West Tallahatchie lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mi'Kenzi Christian, who scored 13 points. That was a full 39.4% of West Tallahatchie's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Dakyliha Johnson was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
West Tallahatchie's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-9. As for Simmons, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Tallahatchie will face off against Simmons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Simmons, they will head out on the road to take on South Delta at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
