Pierce hasn't had much luck against Polk County recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bluejays will square off against the Slammers at 6:00 p.m. Pierce is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Pierce came out on top against Tekamah-Herman on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 12-run third inning. The Bluejays blew past the Tigers 15-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bluejays.

Pierce got a massive performance out of Savannah Beutler, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Beutler a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Athena Bretschneider, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Pierce always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .593. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Polk County was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They fell 6-2 to Aquinas. The Slammers haven't had much luck with the Monarchs recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Polk County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mady Berggren, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Polk County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-20. As for Pierce, their victory bumped their record up to 10-18.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pierce hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. However, it's not like Polk County struggles in that department as they've averaged .343. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Pierce's way against Polk County in their previous meeting back in September, as Pierce made off with an 11-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bluejays since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
