La Jolla's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Drew Bennett, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. Isabella Policaro was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Olympian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alyssa Martin led the charge by scoring seven points along with 24 rebounds and four steals. Martin is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Asia Darcuiel, who scored 20 points along with three steals.
La Jolla's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Olympian, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
La Jolla will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Kearny at 3:30 p.m. on December 18th. Olympian will take on Del Norte in a holiday battle at 8:00 p.m. on Monday at. Del Norte will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
