Two dominant signal callers in Easton Huck and Tate Balthazor are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The South Central Timberwolves will challenge the Hill City Ringnecks on Friday. South Central is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
South Central is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Wichita County by a score of 36-28. The 36-point effort marked the Timberwolves' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Huck and Cashton Young. Huck had a great game and rushed for 226 yards while picking up 12.6 yards per carry. Meanwhile, Young was balling out in the loss, rushing for 164 yards and three scores, while also throwing for 170 yards and one TD on only 16 passes.

South Central's defense made their presence known, laying out Young three times. Leading the way was Dakota Thornsberry with two sacks. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with seven. Another thorn in Wichita County's side was Jack Herd, who picked up a sack and made 18 total tackles.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Hill City and Trego have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. The Ringnecks were the clear victors by a 58-36 margin over the Golden Eagles. The Ringnecks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by 22 points or more this season.
Hill City didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Balthazor. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 100.5 rushing yards per game. Hill City received some extra help from Aiden Hall, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
South Central's record now sits at 11-0. As for Hill City, their record is now 10-1.
Everything came up roses for South Central against Hill City in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 60-12 victory. In that game, the Timberwolves amassed a halftime lead of 34-12, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
