Softball Recap: Eaton Wins Going Away Against Brush

Eaton got themselves on the board against Brush on Thursday, but Brush never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Beetdiggers with a sharp 6-0 victory. The Reds might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

Bria Foster was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Foster was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emma Anderson, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Brooklynn Minne, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Eaton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brush only managed three.

The win made it two in a row for Eaton and bumps their season record up to 13-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Brush, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-5.

Eaton has already played their next matchup, an 8-4 win against Riverdale Ridge on the 24th. As for Brush, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 10-0 victory against Resurrection Christian on the 25th.
