The Polytechnic Panthers will head out to take on the Trinity Classical Academy Knights at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Polytechnic took a loss when they played away from home back in March, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed two weeks ago. They walked away with a 6-1 win over Chadwick. The contest marked the Panthers' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Caiden Kennedy
Caiden Kennedy was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Polytechnic is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-6 otherwise. Kennedy was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was his first of the season.
Meanwhile, Trinity Classical Academy waltzed into their game on Wednesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They were the clear victors by a 23-2 margin over the Jaguars. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won six matches by eight runs or more so far this season.
Like Polytechnic, Trinity Classical Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: John Carlson. On the mound, Carlson struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Aiden Visconti pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Carlson has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Carlson scored three runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances, while Visconti got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and five RBI. What's more, Visconti posted two hits, the most he's had since back in February.
In other batting news, Andrew Carlson was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Cade Herta was another key player, going 4-for-6 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs.
Trinity Classical Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Trinity Classical Academy's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Polytechnic, their record now sits at 3-7.
Everything went Polytechnic's way against Trinity Classical Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2023, as Polytechnic made off with a 9-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
