North Central simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Irvington Preparatory Academy 55-14 at home. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Thunderbirds as it put an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Landyn Tryon had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing a fumble and making four total tackles. Sawyer Cox was in the mix too, providing North Central with a touchdowns.
North Central's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. In that department, Travaughn Cockrell was the leader with two sacks. He didn't just play on offense: he also picked up two sacks and made seven total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Red Hill didn't have too much trouble with Lawrenceville at home on Saturday as they won 23-7.
Holden Jacobsen was a one-man wrecking crew for Red Hill as he picked up 84 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 53 yards and a touchdown. Jacobsen got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 65 yards.
