Rancho Christian has won three straight games at home, while Rancho Verde has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Eagles will host the Mustangs at 3:15 p.m. One thing working in Rancho Christian's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
If Rancho Christian beats Rancho Verde with 12 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Eagles put the hurt on Perris with a sharp 12-2 win on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Spencer Horner was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Rancho Christian is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise. Horner was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
In other batting news, Cylis Proffitt was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Rancho Christian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-1 (and 1-4 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Cody Horner, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Rancho Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Rancho Verde hadn't done well against Canyon Springs recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Mustangs came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 4-1.
The team relied heavily on Jacob Cabral, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Sebas Cazares, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
Rancho Christian's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Rancho Verde, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Rancho Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Rancho Verde struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Rancho Christian took their victory against Rancho Verde in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 8-0 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
